What is Ceramic Fiber Board?
Ceramic Fiber boards provide a rigid solution for ceramic fiber insulation. Our Ceramic Insulation Boards are manufactured through a wet forming process using alumina-silica fibers and binders. Standard Ceramic Insulation Board grades are standard, high purity, and zirconia. Boards are available in a variety of temperature ratings, dimensions, and custom vacuum-formed shapes. If you are looking for a ceramic fiber board not listed or custom fabrication, please contact us directly.
Low Density Ceramic Fiber Board Vs. High Density Ceramic Fiber board
Low density Ceramic Fiber Insulation boards are slightly better insulators, but they are not as durable and heavy as high density. Our office always recommends high density when drilling, machining, or rigidizing ceramic fiber boards. If you have further questions in regards to your specific application, contact us.

What is BioSoluble Board?
BioSoluble Boards, grade MG-1900, are rigid refractory insulation boards manufactured from a blend of soluble fibers and other fillers to provide superior performance and low bio-persistence (LBP). Manufactured specifically for the refractory industry, the boards offer a cost-effective and high-strength solution for secondary insulation packages. Additionally, all boards come standard with a water repellent coating on one side to aid in performance and as additional protection for installation behind refractory castables. Standard boards are manufactured in a range of sizes ranging from 1/2″ – 3.5″ thick with a max temperature rating of 2012℉ (1100℃), which exceeds that of mineral wool insulation solutions. Typically, the boards are used as a secondary insulator behind ceramic fiber. If machining is required, the boards can be custom fabricated to prints provided.
Benefits
- High resistance to thermal shock and lightweight.
- Low thermal conductivity, heat loss, and storage.
- Excellent cutting and machining characteristics.
- Water repellent coating standard at no additional cost.
- Erosion resistant, non-corrosive, and contains no asbestos.
- Easy to install and high refractoriness with a max temperature of 2012℉ (1100℃).
Applications
- Versatile, rigid insulation used as secondary insulation.
- Replacement of mineral wool and other secondary insulation packages.
- Industrial OEM furnaces, ovens, and kilns for petrochemical, electrical, aluminum, steel, glass, and ceramic applications.
- Precipitators, dryers, ducts, and breeching.
- Utility boilers furnaces, and kilns.
- Refractory backup insulation behind refractory linings such as ceramic fiber.
